D’Antonios, Celebration

So I asked my hubby what should I blog about today and he simply said “D’Antonios”. D’Antonios is probably our favourite restaurant in the world – we probably eat there more times than any other restaurant each year even though we only visit Florida.  We love it because of it’s setting, because it is about good food and great service but it is not pretentious.   D’Antonios  is located in the heart of Celebration’s downtown area, just off the US192.  One of the features that we really love is the outside seating area which overlooks the lake allowing you to people watch and enjoy the warmth and sunshine.  It is a lovely casual and friendly atmosphere.  We have dined as a couple, with friends, family of all ages and with our god children – everyone always loves it and we have had the pleasure of recommending it to many of our villa guests who in turn recommend it to others.

The food is essentially Italian – a great choice for us as my hubby is a vegetarian and I don’t do dairy!   His favourites include Mozzarella Fritta, Involtini di Melazane (Eggplant), Vegetarian Calzone and the Angel Hair spaghetti with Garlic.  Before your meal you always get some beautiful fresh Italian bread with Olive oils with herbs.  He is also a fan of the beers on offer!  My favourites are the Bruschetta, Pappardelle alla Bolognese and the fish specials – if the tilapia is on offer have it.  I am a big fan of their Zinfandel which is always perfectly chilled and a beautiful companion to the surroundings.

Finally, an extra bonus is that you can walk off some of the excess by taking a turn around the series of lakes and maybe spotting an Alligator or two, after your meal.
