Each morning, promptly at 11 a.m., the hotel’s atrium lobby is the scene of the famous duck march. It starts with the Duck Master who prepares the foyer with a red carpet up to the central lobby fountain, he then places some steps in front of the fountain and food is placed on the trays around the fountain.
Next, the five North American mallard ducks, four hens and one drake, descend from their $100,000 penthouse Royal Duck Palace in their very own elevator!
The Peabody Ducks, then waddle their way (or on the occasion when we attended absolutely cantered) to the fountain, taking the steps and launching themselves into the water. All this under the watchful eye of the Duck Master.
At 5 p.m., the procession is reversed, The Peabody Orlando Ducks marching back to their special elevator, then to their Royal Duck Palace for dinner and a quiet evening together.
A unique experience and a nice little detour from your regular routine. I loved it and my hubby quite enjoyed a relaxing sit with a cup of tea and some toast from the cafe bar in the hotel!
