The newest water park in the Orlando area, Aquatica is a 59 acre water park, full of slides and rides.
Our favourite was the Dolphin Plunge – a two body tube slide that takes you through a lagoon of dolphins – you only get a glimpse on the ride but the ride is good and then you can view the dolphins at the end of ride through a large lagoon window. After that I happily chilled out on the beach – which is a large sandy beach with sun lounges and umbrellas while hubby and our godsons went on the other slides – there are mat slides, tube slides, a lazy river, rapids – the boys really loved it.
For me, although I like the sun and heat (why would you go to Florida otherwise) I also like a bit of shade and that can be quite hard to find. We also had to leave earlier than planned due to a thunder-storm which meant everyone had to get out of the water.
It was really busy when we visited, big queues at the turnstiles so my tip is to buy your tickets online – you save on the adult price and you can enjoy early entry, an hour before official opening time in the summer months!
